Robert Kagan is a senior fellow with the Project on International Order and Strategy in the Foreign Policy program at the Brookings Institution. He is a contributing columnist at The Washington Post and contributing editor to the Weekly Standard. Recently he was listed as one of the 50 most influential thinkers in America by Politico magazine and one of the world’s “Top 100 Public Intellectuals” by Foreign Policy and Prospect magazines. He is the author and editor of several books on international affairs, most recently, The World America Made. He was recently also chosen #4 of the 50 Most Powerful Republicans on foreign policy by Foreign Policy magazine. Robert Kagan serves as a member of the secretary of state’s foreign affairs policy board. He is a graduate of Yale University and Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and holds a doctorate in American history from American University.
The public lecture was the second event in the series "Globalization, Mediatization and Populism: Challenges to Democracy in the 21st Century" to mark the conclusion of the NCCR Democracy research program.
