Es gibt Grenzen. Mit der Burka sind sie überschritten, sie sollte verboten werden.
Interview with Olivier Roy in watson, 14.4.2017

French political scientist Olivier Roy is a renowned expert on political Islam, fundamentalism, and the relationship between civil society and religions. He is a professor at the European University Institute in Florence. He headed the OSCE’s Mission to Tajikistan (1993–94) and was a Consultant for the UN Office of the Coordinator for Afghanistan (1988). Roy has written widely on youths rioting in French suburbs, arguing that they are not religiously motivated and that Islam is only used by troubled youths as a cover for pursuing extreme violence.
